If you’re a fan of my clean beauty posts, you may recall me recommending Cocokind products more than a few times in the past year [*Hint Hint: My Moisturizer RecsGo-To Mineral SunblocksSummer Beauty Must-Haves] Lucky for me, I finally got around to trying Cocokind’s cleanser, toner, and face oil and naturally wanted to share my thoughts about these daily, skincare staples with you all. Continue reading for my honest review.

Before I get started, I want to mention how much I appreciate Cocokind’s commitment to sustainability in addition to their constant transparency with their customers!! When you browse Cocokind’s company website you will not only learn about each product’s clean ingredients but also how to properly recycle the containers they come in! And when you visit Cocokind’s blog you can read in-depth articles about their sustainability practices, their formulation practices, up-to-date pricing changes, and of course – all things skincare. Long story short, Cocokind works hard across the board and truly practices what they preach. As an LA girl, I also love the fact that they are a California-based company 😉 Okay – time for some reviews.

Oil To Milk Cleanser

  • The Verdict: This is by far the most unique face wash I’ve ever come across. Upon first use, I did not enjoy this product one bit. It was much too gentle for my taste and didn’t really seem to be cleaning my skin. I was even more disappointed that this award-winning product wasn’t living up to the hundreds of stellar, customer reviews. Despite my frustration, I’m not one to waste money and continued using it. BUT THEN to my great surprise, after a week or so of daily use, I found myself really enjoying this cleanser. It was strange, but I was suddenly no longer displeased with my purchase. Like I mentioned earlier, the formula is incredibly gentle. It is also non-foaming like a cream cleanser. Two things I am generally not a fan of. HOWEVER, this face wash left my skin feeling very soft and very nourished. For that reason alone, I think it’s an excellent option for those with drier complexions. And for those with normal to oily complexions like myself, the Oil to Milk Cleanser is perfect for colder months and arid climates. At the end of the day, this cleanser must be doing something right because I’ve purchased it more than once, and my boyfriend also really likes it. And just in case you were wondering – as much as I wanted it to – this face wash does not remove all of my makeup on its own like traditional oil cleansing does so please don’t expect it to and remove your makeup as you typically would before washing your face. Despite that – this product, although quite mysterious, is a must try for sure! Oh and I can’t describe the exact notes, but the neutral scent definitely appeals to me. Give it a shot, and please let me know what you think 🙂

Daily SPF

  • The Verdict: I really like this mineral-based sunblock moisturizer! It’s comprised of 21% non-nano zinc oxide and also features blue phytoplankton, micro-algae, and rice starch. It is unscented and has an SPF of 32. There is a slight white cast upon application, but it quickly disappears. The moisturizer wears nicely under my powder-based makeup and works wonderfully without makeup as well. My boyfriend is also a huge fan making this sunscreen a great option for the whole family. To put it simply – when you consider both the price point and the quality of this product, Cocokind’s Daily SPF can’t be beat!

Rosewater Facial Toner

  • The Verdict: I purchase a lot of rose-based beauty products and always prefer a light, subtle scent to anything overpowering. However, this particular item barely smelled like rose to me if at all. It had more of a vinegar based scent which is somewhat funny since Cocokind also sells a raspberry vinegar toner. Long story short, I didn’t hate this product, but I definitely did not love it. Like most toners, it finished well before my face wash and moisturizer. Unfortunately, due to the aroma alone I won’t be repurchasing this item. A lot of Cocokind customers really enjoy this toner so just because it’s not for me that doesn’t mean it won’t work for you! If you decide to give it a try, please let me know your thoughts.

Watermelon Hemp Oil

  • The Verdict: This oil absorbs so quickly into my skin and truly takes the place of a night cream. I absolutely prefer it over the Matcha Face Moisturizer mentioned above. It does not smell like either hemp or watermelon to me and just has the subtle scent of any neutral oil. Overall, this a great multiuse product perfect for your face, hair, cuticles, and any other parched patch of skin that is in need of hydration. And let’s not forget – this amazing dry oil also happens to be 100% organic. Woohoo!

Matcha Face Moisturizer

  • The Verdict: I’m in love with the fact that this product smells just like matcha. Unfortunately, I’m not too jazzed about anything else regarding this cream since it’s way too thick and leaves my skin feeling slightly sticky. Don’t get me wrong, it definitely moisturizes and gets the job done after cleansing. However, in comparison to all of Cocokind’s other products, this matcha moisturizer is nothing to write home about. They must have felt the same way because it was recently discontinued. Sorry to all the Cocokind customers who loved this product! And although I have yet to try it, a good swap would be their Texture Soothing Cream which is a lighter moisturizer that is recommended for all skin types. If you happen to already use this product or give it a try – please let me know what you think in the comments below.
