Dry Skin? Time To Moisturize!

I moisturize throughout the year, but now that we are in the thick of autumn and temperatures are cooling down, my skin is in constant need of hydration. Drinking plenty of water, maintaining a well balanced diet, and applying products that contain hyaluronic acid are the main ways I keep my skin hydrated. However, the simple act of applying moisturizers is how I lock in that all important hydration and keep my skin feeling soft, supple, and smooth. See below for some of my current favorites.

Aveeno: Daily Moisturizing Lotion

What I Love About It: This lotion has been a staple in our household for years! It’s fragrance-free and full of soothing oats & rich emollients. The best thing about this lotion is that it’s budget-friendly and available at mostly every drugstore, standard grocery store, Target, and even Costco as a 2-Pack bargain buy! Plus, if Aveeno is good enough for Jen Aniston, it’s good enough for me 😉

Cocokind: Sake Body Lotion

What I Love About It: After enjoying a few of Cocokind’s other products, I decided to give this lotion a try since I really love sake and had personally never seen it used as a skincare ingredient. The fragrance-free formula quickly absorbs into my skin and always leaves my body feeling very hydrated. Other than the fermented rice wine extract that helps support the skin’s microbiome, this lotion contains both sunflower oil and shea butter for additional moisturizing benefits.

Primally Pure: Citrus + Mint Body Butter

What I Love About It: So many things! Every time I use this body butter – I am always impressed by the high quality ingredients, the sustainable glass bottle, and the delightful scent. I love citrus. I love mint. I love tallow, and I love coconut oil which is why I truly feel like this product was made just for me. It has a great consistency and absorbs both easily and quickly into my skin. A little also goes a long way so this moisturizer, although on the pricier side, will last quite a while. To put it simply, this godsend of a body butter is luxurious and effective all at the same time. And if you aren’t into Citrus + Mint, Primally Pure also carries this phenom in two other scents: Almond + Vanilla and Eucalyptus + Lavender which smell lovely as well.

DAYTIME FACE MOISTURIZERS

Cocokind: Electrolyte Water Cream

What I Love About It: This product is an absolute win in my opinion! I typically do not prefer gel style lotions, but this formula has a dreamy consistency that is both lightweight and effective at throughly hydrating my skin for the whole day. It works beautifully alone and also layers wonderfully underneath both my mineral-based sunscreens & mineral-based, powered makeup. Some standout ingredients include Magnesium PCA, Zinc PCA, and Sodium PCA. All three of these PCAs (Pyrrolidone Carboxylic Acids) act as powerful humectants that aid in moisture retention, oil reduction, and skin barrier protection. This cream also contains Microalgae Peptides to reduce redness in skin plus Beta-Glucan for added hydration. FACIAL SUNSCREEN MOISTURIZERS

Cocokind: Daily SPF

My Thoughts: I love a two-in-one product, and this Cocokind physical sunscreen is just that. This wonder of a lotion protects my skin from the sun and moisturizes my face all at the same time. The formula is unscented and full of phytoplankton which helps protect skin from photoaging and the negative effects of blue light. The product is a touch mattifying so I believe this sunscreen is better suited for oilier complexions and/or use on top of a traditional day cream if you tend to have drier skin.
White / Purple Cast: This starts off with a slight white cast but quickly absorbs into my skin and disappears after 10-20 seconds.

Suntegrity: Natural Moisturizing Face Sunscreen & Primer

What I Love About It: My favorite thing about this clean sunscreen is the amazing citrusy, bright scent. I swear it smells just like orange juice! The texture is excellent, and the formula works wonderfully under my loose powder makeup. Some key ingredients include red algae, pomegranate seed oil, and astaxanthin. Suntegrity also sells a separate refill so you don’t have to keep purchasing the pump which is an excellent way to both save money and cut down on waste.
White / Purple Cast: This leaves a slight purple cast on my skin, but it completely disappears under my makeup.

Ursa Major: Golden Hour Recovery Cream

What I Love About It: Absolutely everything!! This is the best night cream I have ever used, and I am legitimately obsessed with it. The cream is a beautiful pale yellow and has a seductive yet light aroma. It’s packed with high quality ingredients such as sea buckthorn, calendula, neroli, sandalwood, and rose. The texture is rich and luxurious yet it absorbs quickly into the skin. Every time I use this miracle cream, I truly feel like a million bucks since it always leaves my face feeling nourished, hydrated, and refreshed. I wear this moisturizer primarily in the evening and sometimes during the day when my skin needs an extra boost. A little goes a long way; so although it’s up there in price – it will last you a good while. This golden goddess of a cream is a gift from heaven and an absolute must-try for anyone seeking to pamper themselves.

My Rave Review: These natural lip balms are great! I‘ve tried the grapefruit, peppermint, and cocoa scents and definitely enjoy the peppermint version the best. All of the moisturizing ingredients are organic include organic and fair trade coconut oil, organic beeswax, organic and fair trade cocoa butter, organic mango butter, tallow from 100% grass-fed cows, and non-GMO vitamin E. My favorite thing about this product is the affordable price point considering Primally Pure is a boutique, clean beauty brand.
