YIELD
You can easily slice this banana bread into 8 good-sized pieces.
Simply double the recipe and extend the cooking time to make a larger loaf.
Step One
Have fun!
Step Two
Preheat your oven to 350°.
Step Three
Add the flour, baking soda, baking powder, sugar, and salt in your mixing bowl.
Whisk to combine these dry ingredients.
Step Four
Melt your butter in the microwave for 15-30 seconds or gently over the stove using a saucepan.
Once melted, set it aside on the counter.
Step Five
Boil some water.
Step Six
Peel the banana, place it on a plate or in a bowl, and use the back of a fork to mash it.

Step Seven
Add the mashed banana, egg, milk, and vanilla extract straight into the bowl with the dry ingredients.
Whisk to combine.

Step Eight
Add in the melted butter, and whisk to combine.
Step Nine
Add in your boiling water, and whisk to combine once more.
Step Ten
Last but not least, drizzle in some maple syrup, and as you guessed it – whisk to combine.

Step Eleven
Grease your loaf pan with some butter or cooking spray before lining it with a piece of parchment paper that is a bit longer than the sides of your pan. These flaps will allow you to easily remove the baked banana bread from the tin.
Step Twelve
Use a spatula to pour the batter into your lined loaf pan.
PRO TIP: You can use a few dots of the batter as glue to adhere the parchment flaps to the exterior of the pan.

Step Thirteen
Rough chop the walnuts, and sprinkle them over the top of your banana bread.
Feel free to push a few of the nuts slightly below the surface.

Step Fourteen
Place your banana bread into the oven.
I baked this particular banana bread for 45 minutes, BUT since everyone’s oven is a bit different, I recommend checking your loaf at the 35-minute mark. Prick the banana bread with a toothpick in a few places. If it comes out clean, the cake is done. If the toothpick comes out wet, continue baking for another 5-10 minutes.
Once fully baked – turn off your oven, and allow your banana bread to cool on the counter for at least 20 minutes.

Step Fifteen
Remove the banana bread from the pan using the parchment flaps.

Step Sixteen
Cut yourself a slice of your freshly baked banana bread and enjoy!

LAST BUT NOT LEAST
You can elevate your banana bread by serving it with some high quality butter, slices of fresh banana, brûléed bananas, a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream, or even a chocolate sauce drizzle.
The possibilities are endless!!
Happy Baking!
Looks yummy!
